There is an orangutan inside that makeshift box sitting on those tires. The rescue workers who arrived knew she was in there. Once they opened the crate, the poor creature didn’t look at anyone.

She kept her head down, and she was holding on to a dirty scrap of cloth like is was a security blanket. The orangutan, Amy, was 7-years-old and already had given up on life.
