Typically, bullhooks are used to beat elephants during training or elephant rides. They are inhumane and cruel and have been banned in many cities. The cruel zoo keepers at the Hanover Adventure Zoo regularly use bull hooks on the elephants in their care.
The poor elephants even cower at the sight of the sticks. I can see no reason why elephants have to be trained to do anything for people – leave them be.
The only reason an elephant should be in captivity is because it needs to be helped or it isn’t capable of living in the wild.
As a concerned citizen of the earth, we need to give out money to programs that protect animals and respect them. Do not visit parks that simply exhibit animals for their own profit.
