On August 11, two fishermen named Ivan Iskenderian and Michael Riggio were on their way home on their boat from a fishing trip. They had been fishing in Killarney Point, Sydney. Suddenly, a whale approached them – spraying and peeking out from the water. The fishermen were amused at first, until they noticed that the whale had something stuck to its mouth. It was garbage – a plastic bag and a disposed tangled fishing wire, to be exact!
Horrified, Ivan Iskenderian reached out cautiously and removed the junk from the whale’s mouth. The whale thanked them in its own way by splashing happily before swimming away – what an experience for the duo!
