It is likely that Bella wasn’t being fed enough food and her blood sugar had dropped too low. Wood said that Bella was a very sweet dog – but that you could tell she was very scared (Bella would lay around and shake a lot).
But, it didn’t take long for Bella to perk up. After having an IV for just two hours, Bella could stand on her own again!

Severe cases need to be treated by a vet, but mild cases can be taken care of at home with a solution of water and sugar. Or easily still, rub some corn syrup on your pet’s gums to help get their blood sugar to the right level. Share away, people.
