Friendship is a beautiful thing in our lives. It can promote healing of physical and emotional wounds in animals or humans. These two dogs are a perfect example. Simon and Sammie were both picked up but at separate shelters. Simon is a 1 year old border collie and Sammie is a 4 month old puppy. They have both been abused by people and first got to know one another at a veterinary clinic.
Simon made the first move by approaching Sammie’s operating table, placing his paw on the table. Sammie appreciated the gesture and the pair understood each other’s pain.

According to Jack O’Sullivan, the co-founder of Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, was surprised by the compassion between the pair.
