Then Beth became pregnant, and Rocky was sure to stay by her side.

But at the same time, Rocky was beginning to slow down. Old age was catching up to him.

Then came the day that Beth and Michael’s daughter, Hazel, was born.

They brought her home in the evening, where they were able to introduce Rocky to his new little sister.

He was happy and he investigated her and sniffed her everywhere. But as he did so, the couple knew that something was different. Rocky’s eyes were glassing over and he was incredibly weak.

A few hours later, Rocky passed away peacefully and quietly. He had waited just long enough to meet the new addition to his family, and then he knew he could go on. Someday, Hazel will hear stories about this wonderful pup who waited to see her when she came into the world. Rest in peace, Rocky. You’ve been such a good boy!
