Woman Leaves Everything Behind To Find The Senior Dog She Saw On A Facebook Pic

This is Jaripo. Jaripo was taken to the Lancaster County Animal Shelter by his owner. The shelter staff was told that Jaripo had a terminal illness and should be euthanized. Before the shelter staff ended Jaripo’s life, they decided to share his story on social media. Social media can be a great way to get the word out about an issue.

In Ventura County, California, the founder of Paw Works, Christina Morgan saw the post. She hopped in her car and drove to the high-kill shelter to meet Jaripo, an 18-year-old Pomeranian.

Morgan took Jaripo to the vet who found that he was in some pain in his hips (not surprising at 18 years of age) and that he needed some dental work done.

There was no evidence – at all – of a terminal illness. Why would someone surrender a dog and lie about why? Did they just not want to care for the elderly dog anymore? How cruel.
