Courtney Ivan was told not to go near the Australian cattle dog sitting on the porch. The firefighters were adamant that the dog didn’t like people. The firefighters and Ivan, an EMT, had all arrived at the Pennsylvania house after a man had died. The dog belonged to that man.
To Ivan, the dog didn’t really seem to be that mean – and the dog even walked right up to her and a co-worker.
Turns out the dog doesn’t like only certain people – Ivan was not one of them! The whole time Ivan was at the house, the dog followed her.
Tragically, the man’s family didn’t even know he had a dog. They were going to take the dog to have her euthanized because they had no idea what else to do with her.
Thankfully, Ivan stopped all that. She volunteered at the Humane Society of Mercer County and took the dog off their hands.
