Our mistakes don’t have to own us. With strength, courage, and determination, we can turn those mistakes on their head and make something good out of them. That’s what this teenager did.
Kaleena Pysher might just be 19 years old, but she’s already a mother. A senior year romance in high school that crashed and burned resulted in Kaleena getting pregnant. She could have opted for an abortion, but the brave teenager decided that she would have her baby and that put the child up for adoption after.
Kaleena knew her decision was the right thing to do. This way, her baby could be born but still get a happy, healthy life and a stable family that could properly care for them, as Kaleena would not be able to provide for that baby herself. She knew she would suffer the emotional downsides of such a separation but understood it would be the best thing to do for the baby.
When the baby finally arrived, Kaleena was able to hold her precious baby daughter for a short moment before passing her off to her new adoptive family – a couple that had always wanted a child but were unable to have one. But instead of deeming her work done, Kaleena decided to go the extra mile to help her daughter in any way she could.
Breast milk is one of the best meals you could possibly give a newborn during the first few months of their lives, and due to giving birth, Kaleena had plenty of it. So she decided to pump and collect her breast milk and carefully package them for safekeeping so that she could give her supply to her daughter and her daughter’s adoptive family. By Kaleena’s second visit to see her daughter, she had already provided them with enough breastmilk to last for months!
This inspirational story speaks volumes of Kaleena’s determination and love for her little one in spite of heartbreak, tough decisions, and against all odds. Watch the full story here!
