What Police Officers Did To Cheer Up A Girl With Rare Blood Disease Is Priceless!

There is no cure for the disease known as Diamond-Blackfan anemia (DBA). It is a rare disorder where the bone marrow is unable to make enough red blood cells (which are responsible for carrying oxygen throughout the body). According to the Diamond Blackfan Anemia Foundation, only about 30 new cases are reported each year in the United States and Canada.

Treatments include bone marrow transplants or blood transfusions. Hallie Bea from Fort Worth, Texas, has Diamond-Blackfan anemia. Some local law enforcement from Fort Worth decided to try and cheer her up by making a music video to “Shake It Off,” by Taylor Swift. The best part is that Hallie is the star of the video!

The officers also hope to raise awareness and get people to donate to the Bone Marrow Registry. Get swabbed. You could save the life of a child.

Share away, people.
