On the 17th of November, 2016, at 4:33 in the morning, Brandi Worley made a chilling call to 911. She said she had killed her two children and that she had just stabbed herself in the neck.
Worley had used a knife to stab her son Tyler Worley, 7, and her daughter Charlee Worley, 3, in their sleep. She then put the knife to her own neck, but did not succeed in killing herself.
She then called 911 and, in a flat, emotionless voice, told the dispatcher what she had done. When asked why she did it, she offered one explanation: her husband wanted a divorce, and he was going to take the kids with him – and she didn’t want that.
Worley’s mother soon arrived on the scene, as Worley had called her there. Her mother took over the phone call, and the dispatcher asked her to go to the room of the children to see if Worley was telling the truth.
Immediately, she began to scream and cry in horror at the bodies of her grandkids. This woke up Worley’s husband, who was sleeping in the basement. When Worley saw her husband, she told him that now he couldn’t take her kids from her.
Now, Worley has been sentenced to 120 years in jail, 55 for her son’s and 65 for her daughter’s. She had pled guilty to the crimes and spoken in the same flat, emotionless voice. Throughout her hearing, she did not speak, only answering “yes” and “no”, and appeared indifferent as her sentence was read.
Family members of Worley gave heartbreaking testimony in court, detailing events and the background of Worley’s relationship with her husband and kids. A GoFundMe page was launched in the Worley children’s names. To date, it has raised more than $50,000. Take a look at this video
