Man Got His Hand Sewn Into His Stomach To Salvage Hand Severely Damaged In Work Accident

Work accidents often prove to be highly fatal – and would even handicap someone for the rest of his life. Just ask a Brazilian former machine operator, 43-year-old Carlos Mariotti who had his hand sewn into his stomach just to save his limb after a freak accident at work.

The accident happened last year in March 2016, when his hand got trapped in between two interlocking parts of a machine utilized to manufacture plastic ware. The skin on his hands got ripped out, exposing his bones and tendons. Doctors decided not to amputate the poor man’s hand instead, allowing time for his limb to slowly heal from the inside. Doctors now hope to structure a surgical procedure for Mariotti to fully recover.
