Santa didn’t miss a beat. It only took a few words from Jolly Old Saint Nick to put Landon at ease. Santa told him that he and his reindeer loved him and that he was a good boy.
Santa ended with “It’s OK to be you.” Landon’s mom, Naomi, could see the anxiety leave her son in that moment. But Santa wasn’t done yet. He took the next few minutes and talked to Landon about a variety of things.
Naomi hasn’t been able to convince her son that having autism doesn’t make him any better or any worse than anyone else. Santa was able to do that for him with just a few words. Being yourself is okay.
