Tears Flow With Irish Priest’s Song Choice Leaving Simon To Say ‘This Is My Favorite Ever Audition’

Father Ray Kelly has been a priest at the St. Brigid’s and St. Mary’s parish, The man, who is 64 years old, has always loved to sing, often doing so with friends and loved ones and using it as a hobby. But one day, he decided to showcase his passion for the art to the world.

It wasn’t Father Kelly’s first time showing off this talent, though. Four years ago, a video of him singing at a wedding at his parish in Oldcastle, County Meath, Ireland, went viral on YouTube. And once you make it big on the Internet, the only way up from there is to make it big on television!

The moment Father Kelly stepped onto the stage at Britain’s Got Talent, his personality already began to win the crowd – and the judges – over. But when he opened his mouth to sing, that’s when everyone understood how he’d shot to Internet fame before!

Father Kelly decided to sing REM’s “Everybody Hurts”, feeling it was a song he could relate to and that was dear to his heart. When he started singing, the audience began to cheer, and once he got to the chorus, the entire auditorium was hooked on his wonderful voice! From his sweet falsetto notes to his melodious strong vocal tones, everything was impeccable.

As Father Kelly finished his song to thunderous applause, the jury was out and the judges remained silent – and then Simon Cowell stood up and gave him a standing ovation. The rest of the auditorium went with him, and Father Kelly was moved to tears! Find out what the judges said in this video!
