New Identity And Credit Card Scam Targets Every Single Shopper At Walmart

Walmart customers recently had their personal information stolen from criminals in the Walmart checkout lines using a method called credit card skimmers.

They are small electronic devices which are placed on top of a credit card reader.

So they steal information off the credit card’s magnetic strip when customers swipe their cards on it.

These devices were found at two Walmart locations already.

The first skimmer was found on May 11th at a Walmart in Fort Wright, Kentucky.

The culprits can also be employees.

In order to take advantage of the customers who were trying to check-out in a hurry, they loaded the skimmer onto the self-checkout machines.

A week later on May 18th, Walmart asset protection associates had found the devices.

Unfortunately, many customers have already lost their personal information.

After using security CCTV footage, police had found two suspects who were responsible for placing the devices.

In order to identify them, police have released the CCTV images of the suspects to the public.
