Footage from a policeman’s dash cam shows a spider creeping up behind an unsuspecting Fulshear police officer.
A spider eerily approached out of the grass as the unarmed officer performed a traffic stop.
The spider, even though it really appears to be so large it looks like a mythical creature from science fiction is actually real.
The Fulshear, Texas encounter is not as terrifying as it appears. The spider was actually crawling on the windshield of the patrol car.
The department posted the video to Facebook along with a caption about how the spider had scared the clerk who reviewed the footage.
The clip which was posted during October has been like over 60,000 times. It has also been shared over 500 times and gained almost 150 comments.
Even with special effects disclaimer, there are several quick to point out the video is not real.
Comments about the spider being on a flat surface because you should be looking at it from underneath, and pointing out that it does not have a shadow are among the naysayers.
There are also those who point out neither the officer nor the driver reacted to the spider coming out of the grass toward them.
The officer has a shadow while the spider does not was pointed out in the comments as well.
The department responded to the comments to clarify that the spider was on the windshield and captured by the dash cam while the officer was making a traffic stop and it was an optical illusion.
