Humble Garden Snail Patiently Waits As Kind Vet Fixes His Broken Shell

Even the smallest of creatures deserves medical care. “All creatures great and small” as the line from the hymn goes (according to Wikipedia, the hymn was published in 1848 in a book called Hymns for Little Children by Mrs. Cecil Alexander).

The snail you see here is patiently waiting his turn at the HaClincia animal hospital located in Tel Aviv, Israel, to get some cracks in his shell repaired.

The snail was brought into the clinic by a local woman who had accidentally stepped on him while working in her garden. All land snails are gastropods. The spiral shell of a snail is made of calcium carbonate.
