Under all this mud is a fox. A baby fox. The four-month-old fox made a bad choice when it decided to walk through a construction site in 2012. There was some thick mud that he thought he could walk through – but it was too thick, and he got stuck. Luckily the construction workers saw him and realized he needed help.
Once they freed him from the mud, they took him to the South Essex Wildlife Hospital (SEWH). SEWH specializes in caring for all wild animals. Founder, Sue Schwar, said that they have handled other foxes in similar situations.
After a nice bath, the fox was probably feeling much better! We, humans, are at fault for putting animals in situations like this. As we build new homes and shopping centers for ourselves, we are taking land away from wild animals.
Thankfully, groups like SEWH are helping to undo some of the injury and damage. Share away, people!
