Lisa wasn’t about to just walk away from the elderly man instead she enlisted the help of the Kroger employees to help him out. The staff got wipes, undergarments, and were kind enough to get him to the employee bathroom.
The man was cleaned up and dressed in clean clothes after which he cried and paid for his groceries. He told Lisa that he had to hurry home because his wife was there alone.
The man, a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, said that until this moment, he had thought his country had forgotten about him.
Lisa posted her story on Facebook thanking Elmer (the man) and Kroger for all they had done.
