Touching Video Shows Moment Man With Down Syndrome Is Reunited With Brother

When Sam’s younger brother Jack decided to become a member of the British Army and soon became one of the Queen’s Guard, he and Sam were unable to see each other for a while.

For a whole year, Sam, who has Down Syndrome, was completely unable to see his little bro.

And then, finally, Jack told Sam it was okay for him to come and visit him at work.

Of course, given the fact that Jack guards the Queen and the royal family, it wouldn’t exactly be the average work tour.

This didn’t discourage Sam, though, who just wanted to see his brother after such a long time without him!

Sam was eager to see his brother proudly guarding Windsor Castle in his full uniform, but before he could, Sargeant Baggot-Moore and Lieutenant Bragger gave him a quick briefing on what he would and wouldn’t be able to do around his brother.

Excitedly, Sam told the two kind officers that this would be the first time he’d see Jack at work.

He also had lots of questions about what goes on in and around the castle.

Finally, they arrived where Jack was standing. He was fully donning his long gray winter uniform coat, along with that famous, tall furry hat.

Jack, of course, couldn’t drop his professional, strict stance, but when he saw Sam, he quickly performed a Come To Attention move, which is essentially a stomping motion.

This small acknowledgement was all it took to make Sam smile!

Sam was also allowed to rush up to where his brother was standing to take a very quick photo with him.

This was an exciting moment for all! As Sam finished taking his photo with Jack, Jack stomps his foot once more, prompting his older brother to giggle and run off.

Being one of the Queen’s Guard is a very important and strict job, and it is one well-earned.

The soldiers assigned to this duty are typically hand-picked out of five of the British military’s elite regiments.

Contrary to popular belief, when they are guarding areas other than outside one of the Queen’s many residences, they are allowed to move just fine.

They often move around now and then when on guard duty, and sometimes, they even react to others in their vicinity.

With that being said, when outside a residence of the Queen like Jack was, they must act as unmoving, stoic sentries at all times.

Jack performs this action very well. Although his brother is right there, he practices self-control and remains completely serious.

Jack is on duty for periods of two hours at a time, and he makes practiced maneuvers every 10 minutes on schedule.

He’s dedicated to his job and is a very patient man!

Later on, Sam got to go on a special, private tour of the guardsmen’s quarters.

As he strode along with his guides, he spotted Jack at the end of the hallway, and he just couldn’t contain himself.

He missed his brother so much! He took off running and leaped right into his little brother’s arms.
