Dogs can be incredibly compassionate and generous, sometimes even putting humans to shame with their love and kindness. At just 8 months old, Lana might be a very young rescue puppy, but having been saved from the streets of Brazil and waiting in a shelter for adoption, she’s never forgotten where she came from.

Lana lives a happy life with Suelen Schaumloeffel, the woman who adopted her, and enjoys many luxuries. One of them is a thick, comfortable blanket that Suelen wraps the little puppy up in every night when she goes to bed in her dog house on colder nights.

But one day, the morning after Suelen tucked little Lana is, Suelen’s fiancé saw something adorable and touching as he left early to go to work.

Lana had dragged her cozy blanket outside of her dog house and had slipped a part of it under the gates of her home so she could share it with a stray dog who had walked by the house. The stray pup had first showed up a few days prior, and Suelen remembers trying to go to check for a tag only to have to pup run away in fright.

Lana’s generosity and outgoing kindness touched Suelen’s heart, and she and her fiancé have watched as the days have gone by and the two dogs have become closer and closer. Unfortunately, their attempts to approach the pup have been unsuccessful as he seems very nervous around them.

They’ve taken to leaving food and water out for the stray, hoping to take him in when he’s ready or to help him find his home if he’s gotten lost – and they know Lana would want them to do so, too!
