This a story of a cow named Maybelle, a new addition to the Gentle Barn located in Tennessee. The place is a sanctuary for rescued farm animals – especially for Maybelle who had spent the last 8 years as a dairy cow. Now that shes free, Maybelle faces no pressure in producing milk for human consumption.
However, the staff working at the sanctuary noticed that she was visibly unhappy and constantly anxious.
According to the staff, Maybelle was constantly “crying” in moos, and wanders around the pasture frantically and frequently – she seemed to be looking for someone.
The sanctuary’s co-founder, Jay Weiner, found out who Maybelle was looking for by contacting her former owners.
