This poor dog was all alone. She was living on the streets of Turkey. Life as a stray is filled with loneliness, hunger, and sadness – you can see it on her face. Because of some thefts in the area, a resident of the city of Giresun was looking at some security camera tapes to see if he could find the people responsible.
Instead, he found something else. A man approached the stray dog.
He gave the dog food and even the coat off his back. As you can imagine this incredible act of random kindness wasn’t about to go unnoticed. The footage was shared and soon went viral.
The kind-hearted dog lover was soon identified as Bülent Kalpakçıoğlu. When Bülent was asked why he did such a kind thing to an animal, he didn’t own all he said was that it would have bothered him all day not to have helped. He had seen the dog shivering and alone and couldn’t imagine going home and being all toasty warm while she was suffering.
Bülent was given a certificate by the mayor of Giresun, Kerim Aksu. Aksu told the crowd that Bülent had given us all a lesson in humanity.
We need more people like Bülent in this world. We all can do something small to make the life of a stray animal better. We all can do something small to help a lonely or elderly neighbor.
