Cat Who Was Adopted After Being Surrendered Won’t Sleep Until Mom Holds His Paw

Jamie had to go to the shelter when his owner moved into a nursing home. Jamie was a senior cat at the age of 13 when he arrived at the RSPCA Australia.

Senior cats and dogs often have a hard time finding a new home. Jamie had some health issues when he first arrived. He had kidney problems, bad teeth, and a cat flu. After being treated for all of those ailments, Jamie waited. It is unclear just how long Jamie waited, but then one happy day, he met Sarah Dempsey.

Sarah was looking for a cat, but like most people, she wasn’t looking to bring home a senior cat.

But, it was fate – when Sarah met Jamie, they both knew. Jamie was happy to give Sarah head bumps, and he purred when they first met. As any loving cat owner will tell you a head bump is a sign of love and togetherness. Sarah fell for it!

She knew that he would be able to save her from loneliness – and she could save him from the shelter. That is what you call a win-win! Sarah said Jamie is very affectionate and he follows her everywhere.

To fall asleep, Jamie prefers that Sarah is holding either a paw or his tail. If she lets go, Jamie wakes up and meows. He may even claw at her until she holds him again! If you are lonely, consider adopting a pet! You may find a cat or dog that needs you too.
