Third grader, Caleb Hunt, attends Carolyn Lewis Elementary School in Conway, Arkansas and is being hailed as a hero!
Caleb, 8, woke up one morning and heard some strange groaning noises coming from his neighbor’s home.
And when he looked outside, he saw his neighbor, Mrs. Watson, 81, laying on the floor of her garage.
Mrs. Watson often brings over treats for Caleb and his younger sister, so naturally when he saw her laying on the floor of her garage, he rushed over to see if he could help.
None of the people driving by were stopping to help.
Caleb was a little upset no one was helping her and ran outside in his bare feet!
Mrs. Watson said she was taking out the trash when she started to feel dizzy and then she fell.
As soon as he realized something was wrong, he ran back to his house and told his mom, and they called 911.
Help arrived, and Mrs. Watson was taken to the hospital.
She had a broken hip and believed that Caleb may have saved her life!
Cindy Watson, Mrs. Watson’s daughter-in-law, said that the Hunt family have always been good neighbors to her mother-in-law and called Caleb a hero.
We also think Caleb is a hero! How many eight-year-old children think about other people?
Sure, they love their family, but it would have been easy for Caleb to ignore the groans and look out for himself.
We are certainly glad he didn’t! Well done, Caleb!
Share away, people!
