If you live in the United States, other good plants to use in a butterfly garden include delphinium, alyssum, yarrow, daylily, and goldenrod. If you want to encourage the butterflies that visit your yard to lay their eggs use plants like milkweed, lupine, willow, and yarrow.
Placing sliced fruit or sugar water outside will also encourage butterflies to swing by your place! But, you may also get ants, rodents, bees, and hummingbirds – so be careful!
