Woman Finds An Orphaned Baby Armadillo In Her Backyard — And Realizes It Needs Her Help

According to the San Diego Zoo web page, twenty species of armadillo live in the Americas. Mostly in Central or South America. The only armadillo native to the United States is the nine-banded armadillo. The nine-banded armadillo is commonly found in Texas, where it is also called the long-nosed armadillo.

Texas has adopted it as its official state mammal. Armadillos prefer wetlands with shade. They like to dig, so sandy soil is a plus. Armadillos like to burrow in hollow logs or grass. Rumble user, TYarber 37, found a baby armadillo in her backyard!
