A 34-year-old man, Matthew Rogers, went into a Bank of America in Sarasota, Florida in 2011. He wasn’t there to make a deposit. Rogers wanted to make a withdrawal… with a gun. The surveillance footage showed him pointing his gun at the tellers and demand cash. In the bank was Staff Sgt. Eddie Peoples.
The final mistake that Rogers made was when he pointed his gun (a fake plastic one) at People’s and his children – and then he threatened one of the boys. Peoples didn’t really appreciate the gesture and sprang into action. Outside the bank, Peoples was able to block Rogers in with his vehicle and took him down. Without hesitation.

After serving overseas on five different deployments, Peoples wasn’t about to let Rogers harm any one in his hometown. Good work, Sgt! Share away, people!
