Here’s Why You Should Wash Your Brand New Clothes Before You Wear Them

When a CBS 21 anchor named Tanya Foster went shopping for clothing items all around central Pennsylvania, she brought those items to the science lab located in Harrisburg University.

There, a biotechnology professor named Leena Patterkine would conduct a labatory test.

Are new clothes are really as clean as we thought to be?

The results showed just after 24 hours.

Both the shirts, shoes and pants contained little to moderate amounts of bacteria. The new items were significantly dirtier than second-hand ones.

Underwear was the worst – especially the packaged ones!

According to health experts, we should wash everything before we wear them – a combination of hot water and bleach works best to ensure utmost cleanliness.
