This is Frank and Louie, the well-known two-faced kitty that lived in Massachusetts who passed away at the age of 15.
Two-faced cats are known as Janus cat – named for the Roman god Janus, that was portrayed as having two faces, according to National Geographic.
Most animals that have this birth abnormality don’t live that long – but Frank and Louie lived a long, happy life!
Leslie Lyons from the University of Missouri’s Department of Veterinary Medicine said the cause of Janus cats isn’t fully understood.
Frank and Louie was a ragdoll, but Lyons doesn’t think that breeding plays a role in the condition because it is so rare.
Mary Stevens, Frank and Louie’s mommy decided to take the cat home so it wouldn’t be euthanized.
