Shelter Dog’s Friends Have All Been Adopted, But Everyone Keeps Passing Him Up

This is Bear. He has been having a very hard time finding a new home, in fact, he has been living with the Detroit Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) for three years!

Bear came to DAWG as a stray, he was emaciated and only 7-months-old.

Kelley LaBonty, the director of DAWG, said that the foster family who had been taking care of Bear had to move and since then, Bear has been at DAWG’s shelter.

Everyone thought he would be adopted – just look at that face! Who could pass this handsome fellow up?

LaBonty says that Bear is great with people and even loves children!

Bear likes to spend time cuddling and getting back rubs!

Bear’s only quirk is that he has trouble getting along with other animals.

LaBonty says that Bear needs to find a home that has no other pets, and that is proving to be a very difficult thing.

Bear did have one very good prospect for a home.

But when he arrived at the family home for a meet-and-greet, the children said they wanted a different dog.

How sad for Bear! He was so close to having a perfect home!

Bear even went to an adoption event in April and he was the only dog that wasn’t adopted! LaBonty says Bear is showing signs of depression.

No dog should ever feel that way, there has got to be a family or a person out there that wants a dog.

Bear is ready to come home today! Get in touch with DAWG if you are serious about adopting Bear.

UPDATE: BEAR WAS ADOPTED!!!
