This is a story which featured a very special live, rare and never-before seen footage in the animal kingdom – the birth of a new Orangutan. Orangutan mothers are notoriously private and extremely protective of their young, so no doubt that much pain has been taken to capture this precious moment on film!
Courtesy of the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, Orangutan mother Dana is seen with her newborn baby Kea. The birth of Kea has been dubbed by staff working at the animal conservation to be a ‘birth miracle’.
