When someone can no longer take care of their pet, often they will give them up to an animal shelter or try to find someone else who can take them. In the worst case scenario, they might abandon them far from home, which is already a cruel and inhumane act. But this pet owner – if he can even deserve that title – did something much, much more horrifying.
He took his dog, Goldie, to a storm drain in his home in Bali, threw her in, and shut the lid, leaving her to die there. But she didn’t die. Instead, she survived – barely – on food that floated passed her when the rain came, and drinking the water around her. Somehow, she survived for an entire month. But then a local found out about the cruel deed and rushed to see if she was still alive.

The dog was in terrible shape – extremely malnourished and weak, and terrified. Luckily, the man who rescued her had a vet in the family. They took her home and gave her emergency care. She tried to eat, but was unable to keep food down.
She weighed only 9kg. Through ups and downs and many trials, Goldie persisted. She is now much healthier and happier and has doggy brothers and sisters to live with. Share away, people.
