Teenagers broke into Abby’s home in Ferndale, WA, and stole some money and electronics in 2014. Abby was only four years old at the time, and she was with her babysitter, a 17-year-old female. The babysitter said that two black men, who were armed, broke in and stole the items. A man who matched the babysitter’s description was arrested.
Abby was also a witness, and she had heard what the babysitter said. She knew it was a lie. Abby told the police, and it didn’t take long before the babysitter broke down and told the truth. The real robbers were her boyfriend, 16, and one of his friends. All of the teenagers were charged with perjury, burglary, and robbery.
