In Addis Ababa, a town located near Ethiopia, a 12-year-old girl had been abducted from her local village – she was kidnapped and forced into an arranged marriage against her will. He parents and fellow villagers knew nothing of it, either. Everyone searched high and low for her, but to no avail.
Until one day, they stumbled upon a pride of lions who were calming resting in the plains located along Bita Genet- and there she was, right beside them! The lions retreated after spotting humans coming towards them. But how did the girl get there in the first place?
The trio had witnessed the girl being beaten and dragged off a truck by an older man beforehand. They gave chase immediately, scaring him off and then setting their eyes on the frightened child.
The three lions stood in a pack beside her, and neither made a move to attack her whatsoever. Remember – wild animals do NOT attack without any reason! They guarded her until help came, and disappeared back into the forest.
Thanks to those lions, the girl is now safe and back with her parents!
