It was clear that the pup needed emergency help.

Sharon had called the City of Folsom Animal Services group to come give this poor creature help – but they all soon realized that the animal wasn’t a dog – it was a female coyote!

The coyote had a severe case of mange, which is why she was barely recognizable.

Rescuer Cindy Walden from Animal Services said she could see the desperation in the coyote’s eyes.

To get the coyote the help she needed Gold Country Wildlife Rescue (GCWR) was called.

They took the coyote to their shelter and named her Princess.

Princess was given food, water, and a bath which would help with the pain and itch she was experiencing.

Once she was feeling a little better, Princess was moved to Sierra Wildlife Rescue in Placerville, California where she could interact with other coyotes.

Princess made fast friends with two other coyotes that were about her age, and they all formed a close bond!

Each day they played together and learned to trust and work as a team.

Eventually, Princess and her two friends were all well enough to be released into the wild!
