Susan Boyle Earns The Golden Buzzer By Returning To ‘America’s Got Talent’ After 10 Years

For those of us who absolutely enjoy watching reality TV shows or talent competitions, you may be familiar with the trend of the mid-2000s, when suddenly talent shows were all the rage.

Just about every network seemed to be coming up with their own rendition of a talent competition.

Countries all over the world would create their own local copycat of some of the bigger talent show overseas, in the hopes of hopping onto the bandwagon and capturing some of that view time.

Everyone auditioned themselves in hopes of getting their 15 minutes of fame on national – sometimes even international! – television.

With luck, they may even end up being rich and famous!

It was almost akin as to hoping to strike the lottery, except you could increase your chances by showing off something you are good at.

It was during this time – in 2009, to be precise – that the world was introduced to Susan Boyle’s incredible talent.

She would make headlines as an apparently dumpy-looking, middle-aged Scottish lady who would wow the world with her golden voice as soon as she started singing on Britain’s Got Talent.

Boyle’s rendition of I Dreamed A Dream from the Broadway musical Les Misérables amazed audiences across the globe and quickly went viral.

She obviously netted herself a well-deserved spot, and at the end of the competition left as a runner-up of that season.

She would then go on to become a pop culture sensation in the U.S. and sell 20 million records.

Not bad for someone who was initially pegged as the underdog of that season!

Almost 10 years later, Boyle has decided to surprise everyone once more.

Just earlier this year, she showed up once again unannounced on a reality talent show – this time, on America’s Got Talent: The Champions.

This, as it turns out, is the first performance she has had since her original TV debut before Simon Cowell – the judge who is famous for being tough to please, and the one whose reaction to her voice went viral.

Odd that a Scottish woman has found herself on an American stage, but it seems that no one is complaining – least of all the Mel B, as it turns out!

To no surprise to anyone, 57-year-old Boyle proceeded to blow everyone away with her incredible cover of the Rolling Stones’ Wild Horses.

What was probably a little bit more of a surprise (but not by much!) is how in response to Boyle’s performance, Mel B slammed down on the Golden Buzzer, allowing Susan to advance straight to the finals without any further competition.

It is clear that Boyle was still humble and was expecting to work her way back to the top, as her response to the great honor was to break down in tears with happiness.

Immediately afterwards, Cowell broke form and jumped from his seat to give Boyle a much-deserved embrace.

Seems that he is still proud of the effort she has put in, even after all these years!
