We all know that electronics and water don’t play well together.
That is why you should never have a radio or television near the bathtub while you are taking a bath – you could get electrocuted!
A teenager in New Mexico died after accidentally electrocuting herself while trying to charge her cell phone while in the bathtub.
On July 9, the teen, Madison Coe, 14, had either picked up her phone while it was plugged in or actually plugged the phone into the charger while she was sitting in the tub.
The family was understandably devastated by her death.
Madison’s grandmother, Donna O’Guinn, said Madison was sweet and loved by everyone and now O’Guinn wants to prevent this tragedy from happening to other families.
Please be sure that this story circulates and people don’t try to use their cell phone in the bathroom while it is charging.
Better yet, don’t even charge your phone in the bathroom.
You should have a special place you put your phone while it is charging that is far away from any water.
Madison had just graduated from Terra Vista Middle School and she was on the basketball team and a member of the school band.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family cover Madison’s funeral expenses.
In just three days, the page raised $1,580 thanks to the many good people out there willing to help the grieving family.
Madison’s funeral will be held in Lubbock, Texas on July 15. Rest in Peace.
Share away, people.
