Some circles of individuals in certain countries around the world continue to shame women who give birth to girls instead of boys. That is what happened to Meena Kashyap, a 35-year-old woman from Patiala, Punjab, India. After giving birth to a female baby, her brother-in-law Kamaljeet Singh and his friend Guarav entered her home and beat her with hockey sticks.
A video captured by her family members, hiding on the top of the stairs, shows her screaming in pain as she is struck repeatedly from all angles. Apparently, this is not the first time that Kashyap has been attacked. She made a complaint against their violence in April, but no action was taken.

Kashyap’s husband, Daljit, and his family do not wish to accept any female children from her. According to her father, her husband’s family has demanded the equivalent of over $10,800 in dowry. Daljit and Kamaljeet are reportedly facing charges of trespassing and voluntarily causing harm. Share away, people.
