We see lots of funny viral tweets and posts involving wrong number texts, but when this father’s kind response to an incorrectly sent message went viral all over Twitter, he didn’t expect it would change his life.
A woman named Syd was shopping for a dress for a formal occasion and accidentally sent pictures asking for opinions on one of them to a man named Tony instead of her mom.
Tony took it in stride, though, and replied to say that his wife wasn’t home, but he thought the dress looked nice – and he even sent a picture of him and all his kids showing a thumbs up to say they thought the dress was great!
A friend of Syd’s posted screenshots of Tony’s texts, and it quickly went viral.
But one Twitter user did a little research into Tony’s family and found that there was one child not included in the adorable thumbs up photo: Kaizler, the second youngest, who suffers from leukemia and wasn’t around for the picture due to his treatment.
Further digging led to the discovery of Tony’s GoFundMe page, which he had set up to help pay for Kaizler’s expensive medical bills. Naturally, there was only one logical step: for Twitter to work its magic. Before long, people were pouring in donations for Kaizler’s treatment.
When Tony found out what was happening, he thanked everyone in a Tweet and even posted a picture of Kaizler giving the thumbs up sign! As of now, the GoFundMe has raised a whopping $16,000.
That’s the magic of the Internet – and the wonders of compassion!
