Relationships are hard. Adding a child to a relationship may complicate things. If the couple separates, the children are often in the middle. Maybe both parents have custody. So, you have to still be in contact with the person who you may not be able to get along with.

Brandon Carpenter and the baby’s mother separated sometime after the birth of their daughter. One day he was at the mother’s house when she asked him to get some medicine for her from the refrigerator.

Brandon was shocked to see that the fridge was practically empty. But the pantry is stocked – with baby food items (formula, water, snacks). Brandon wasn’t going to let this go. He shared his touching story on Facebook. Brandon went to the local grocery store and bought the woman food.

Enough food to last a few weeks. He recognized that the woman works full time, cares for the baby, pays her rent and all her bills. Now, thanks to Brandon, she also has food. Brandon said that even though they are not a couple, he can still provide for her. She is the mother of his baby.

So, this is a real man, everyone. He has taken responsibility. What would happen to the baby if the mother didn’t eat? If his baby is to be safe and cared for – the mother needs to be eating and healthy too (if she needs it).
