Toddler Dies Of Drug Overdose After Meth-Addict Parents Failed To Check Up On Her For 22 hours

The youngest victim of an illegal drug overdose in Franklin County and possibly one of the youngest ever in Pennsylvania, 3-year-old Logan Starliper was found dead in her home on the 6th of January this year. She was found by her mother after her parents left her alone for 22 hours.

Her parents were Brian P. Bennet and and Brittany N. Higgins, who were both 29. Bennet and Higgins were meth addicts and regularly used the drug in front of Logan and also their ten-year-old son, usually with nothing but a child gate separating them.

The two parents had been doing meth the night before Logan was found dead. According to both parents, all drugs were kept out of reach of their kids, but it is clear that Logan somehow managed to get her hands on them regardless. The postmortem toxicology report revealed that Logan’s body contained methamphetamine and buprenorphine.

As investigations commenced following Logan’s passing, multiple relatives and friends of the family came forward with allegations that Bennet and Higgins had abused Logan, as they noticed bruises and marks on her body in the months prior.

The police discovered evidence of communication between the parents that supports these claims, indicating that they neglected and abused both of their children.

Bennet and Higgins face charges for five felonies, including third-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter, child welfare endangerment, and drug possession.

They are being held without bail at Franklin County Jail and have preliminary hearings set for April. Meanwhile, their drug dealer, Rodney ‘Allen’ Mower, is also incarcerated without bail on the charge of drug delivery resulting in death, which both parents also face.
