Leprosy Is Making A Comeback And Officials Want You To Avoid Armadillos

In central Florida, United States, local health authorities have issued a red alert to the city’s residents – about armadillos.

What people didn’t know is that armadillos are actually, potential bacterial carriers linked to a deadly disease.

With their leather-like surface, armadillos are naturally infected with leprosy, commonly known as Hansen’s disease.

They are the only animal species that is responsible for the rising medical cases linked to leprosy.

This deadly disease, on an infected human, causes severe skin and nerve damage.
