Bonded Stray Dogs Get Separated In A Shelter. Months Later Their Reunion Is Heartwarming!

Like Romeo and Juliet – but without all the swords and death! And well, there are no people, just two dogs. Two stray dogs. Abby Riley was taken in off the streets and next to a kennel with another dog at the Adams County Pet Rescue. The next thing they knew, Abby had escaped her kennel and was lying next to the other dog, a German Shepherd!

They were a bonded pair that had finally found each other again! Sadly, Abby’s partner was adopted quickly. Abby wasn’t as social and needed some additional training. After six months, Abby found herself a forever home! Then shortly after that – she got a new friend.

Abby’s family went to Rebecca and Alycia from Animal House TV for help in searching for a companion dog for Abby. Rebecca and Alycia found out that the dog Abby had been bonded to had been returned to the shelter.

Can you say PERFECT?! Rebecca and Alycia picked up the German Shepherd and got him all ready to go see Abby. They were cautious at first when re-introducing the dogs since it had been some time since they had seen each other.

But the two dogs didn’t need a slow and easy reunion – they remembered each other! This just goes to show you that humans are not the only animals that can form lifelong companionships – dogs and many other animals do it all the time!
