Smokey and his favorite elephant toy were surrendered to an Ohio animal shelter on Valentine’s day. Smokey is about five years old when he was sent to the shelter.
He had been brought to the Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center because his family lost their home. That family was the only family Smokey had ever known.

You can imagine how devastating that must have been for Smokey to be left behind. But the family at least gave him the chance to find another home.

The sign on Smokey’s kennel said that he and his elephant were to be adopted together! Happily, Smokey and his elephant are leaving the shelter! You can see that Smokey is excited about the news!
