Thankfully, two good Samaritans stepped in just in time!
According to reports, the mother was putting her baby into its car seat when two suspects approached her and hit her on the head five to eight times.

The first good Samaritan, Joshua James Owen, stepped in and was shot three times, a GoFundMe page has been set up to help him with his medical expenses.
The second good Samaritan pulled out a gun and shot one of the attackers, John Wesley Simmons III, who died at the scene!

The mother was in critical condition when she arrived at the hospital.
Police arrested Fred Wyatt II, 27, and charge him with attempted first-degree murder, attempted aggravated robbery, and attempted aggravated kidnapping.
According to reports (eyewitnesses and CCTV video), Wyatt and his accomplice had waited in a maroon can for nearly 90 minutes for the woman and her 8-month old baby to come out of the store.
