Dogs are known to have a strong and unbreakable bond with people and make great companions, no matter how much time you spend with them.
This was what Cody Leightenheimer experienced while at work one day. While working, Cody noticed that a puppy was approaching him.
Immediately, Cody noticed that this puppy was not healthy – he was infested with fleas and malnourished.
This puppy still manages to look so cute despite its condition.
Cody immediately took pity on him and gave the puppy some food.
After filling his belly, the puppy took a nap in Cody’s office before he was taken to the vet.
Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with deafness, rotten teeth, stomach ulcers and cataracts.
Cody was told that this pooch would not survive long.
Despite the bad news, Cody and his family brought him home and showered him with love.
This was the first time that he was loved and cared for by a human family.
He even enjoyed being in the yard during the winter.
Turns out that he did not mind being part of a makeover.
He was dressed and all ready for Christmas!
He spent time with his family playing card games.
This photo below was taken a few days before he passed away.
He also spent his free time napping.
Despite the short amount of time spent, they have developed a strong bond.
Despite his passing, he would always have a special place in his family’s hearts.
