Meet a special herd of horses – the Budweiser Clydesdales are pure bred horses utilised for the marketing and advertising efforts of the Budweiser brewing company. They can be viewed by the public at the annual Superbowl – they even have a fan club amongst horse lovers!
An elderly woman, Marian Roberts is also a horse lover – the 95 year-old was cared for by hospital staff at Crossroad Hospice. The staff there have a practice of granting patients’ wishes, and decided to grant hers this time. All she wanted was to see Budweiser Clydesdales in person – Marian has loved horses since her very first pony when she was 7-years-old. She was even a trick rider during teen-hood!
To grant her wish, staff accompanied Marian to the Clydesdales’ Warm Springs Ranch located in Missouri, with her wheelchair in tow. They even negotiated a successful visitation slot of her own!
Needless to say, Marian was overjoyed. The horses were truly as majestic as she thought they’ll be – those horses were also extremely friendly and receptive to human touch!
