Heartbroken Divers Discover Depressed Animals Being Kept In Filthy Underwater Cages

We all know that some people are very cruel. Animals are mistreated every day. We often see and hear stories about how animals in zoos or at circuses are abused and forced to perform ‘tricks’ to earn money for the owners. I have never heard of a sea animal being as abused as the two dugongs in this story.

Dugongs, according to National Geographic are enormous vegetarians that are related to manatees. Dugongs spend their day foraging for underwater grasses. They have a sensitive snout they use to sniff out their food.

They can be found living in warm coastal waters from Australia to East Africa.
