Dog Returned To Shelter Twice Was So Afraid He Wouldn’t Stop Shaking In His Kennel

Chevy was living at the shelter when Melissa Davis heard his story. Even though Davis’ house was already full (pets and a teenager) she couldn’t get Chevy off her mind. Chevy had a laundry list of ailments including being heartworm positive and hair loss.

Chevy was treated and adopted again in March 2016. This second adoption didn’t last.

Volunteers from the Pet Resource Center recognized Chevy from a video about a stray ‘bulldog’ at the Pasco County Animal Services in Land o’ Lakes, Florida. Even though Chevy’s owners were contacted, they didn’t bother to go pick him up.

Chevy was in a bad spot, he was shaking and barely moved! Bill Gray and Davis eventually saw the video of Chevy.

Gray, the director Second Chance Friends, Inc., took Chevy from the shelter and Davis agreed to be his foster mom. Davis admits that she was nervous about having another dog in her home.
